QUALITY INDICATOR- FIBER LENGTH

why is fiber length important?

fiber cut length helps to determine the performance and method for filling products

  • shorter fibers tend to be more costly and perform better typically but there is an exception to every rule and a "continuous filament" fiber is that exception here (shown in the video below)

  • shorter fibers (under 2") can be blown into a product similar to natural fills while longer fibers are garneted into a batt and then put in a product

    • blown fibers can be clustered into small balls of fiber as well to simulate the feel of down more closely
